MANILA — The Pasig City Police discovered a decomposing body of a girl vacant lot a private compound in Barangay Santolan, Pasig City on Monday afternoon.Authorities said the body was found at around 2:00 p.m. in a grassy vacant area in the compound of a factory.According to the Pasig City Police, the clothing of the girl matches the outfit worn by a previously reported missing 15 year-old girl.PLT. Aurora Joy Manuela, spokesperson of the Pasig City Police Station, said the discovery is connected to an ongoing investigation involving the missing minor.“‘Yong discovery is a part of an ongoing follow up investigation relative to the reported missing minor fee days back. Reported to us on March 19. Since then, nagbuo po tayo ng special investigations team. ‘Yong discovery po is a part of effort to locate the missing minor,” Manuela said.Police have not yet confirmed whether the body is that of the missing teenager, identified as Isabelle Sophia Tablate.However, authorities noted that the clothing of the discovered body matches what the girl was last seen wearing near the LRT Santolan Station.“Upon the initial investigation po, the description of the found lifeless body matches the description of the missing minor. However, we cannot confirm kung siya na po ‘yon because of the state of the body,” Manuela added.The remains have been brought to a morgue in Pasig City and will undergo autopsy, DNA testing, and dental examination to determine the victim’s identity and the exact cause of death.“Part of it kung may mga sugat-sugat or impact, or nabugbog ba, made-determine po doon,” Manuela explained.The family of the missing girl has declined to issue a statement as of this writing.
