Jonathan Cellona, ABS-CBN News" width="960"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">Former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV arrives at the Department of Justice building in Manila on March 5, 2026. <em>Jonathan Cellona, ABS-CBN News</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA (<strong>UPDATED</strong>) -- The House Committee on Justice ordered the issuance of subpoenas for former senator Antonio Trillanes IV and the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) to appear in its next hearing on impeachment complaints against Vice President Sara Duterte on April 22.</p><p>ML party-list Representative Leila de Lima moved for the subpoena for Trillanes, saying he was cited in an impeachment complaint in relation to allegations on money deposited in bank accounts under her name and those she jointly owns with her father, husband, or siblings.</p><p>&quot;Senator Trillanes was cited in the Saballa et al. complaint in relation to the specific allegation on VP Duterte&#x27;s assets, specifically in footnote number 98 about those money deposited in bank accounts under her name and those that she jointly owns with her father, her husband, or her siblings,&quot; De Lima said on Tuesday during a justice panel meeting. </p><p>De Lima also cited the former senator&#x27;s testimony during the House Quad Comm&#x27;s hearings on former president Rodrigo Duterte and the vice president&#x27;s bank accounts. </p><p>The subpoena will ask Trillanes to produce documents relative to unexplained wealth and non-disclosure of assets in the vice president&#x27;s Statements of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN).</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/4/14/-wait-madriaga-claims-he-disposed-of-ovp-s-p125-m-confidential-funds-in-less-than-24-hours-1424">READ: Madriaga claims he &#x27;disposed&#x27; of OVP&#x27;s P125-M confidential funds &#x27;in less than 24 hours&#x27;</a></div><div><br/></div><div><strong>REPORTS ON SUSPICIOUS BANK TRANSACTIONS</strong></div><p>The House justice committee also directed to issue a subpoena to the AMLC for its appearance on April 22 and production of reports on suspicious transactions from banks involving Duterte and her husband, Manases Carpio, from 2006 to 2025.</p><p>In explaining the choice to include only the married couple and not Duterte&#x27;s entire immediate family, House Justice Committee member Terry Ridon said they want to limit the information they would obtain from AMLC.</p><p>&quot;We would want to be able to limit lang din po &#x27;yun pong mga information na makukuha po natin from the AMLC kasi siyempre ano &#x27;yun talaga, very coercive &#x27;yung power po nung inquiry na it&#x27;s not bank records. It&#x27;s just banking transactions, which we can get from the AMLC. And siyempre, &#x27;yung relevancy talaga kailangan ma-establish,&quot; Ridon said at a press conference after the hearing.</p><p>&quot;Tingin ko hindi na kailangan isama pa &#x27;yung labas pa sa kanila pong dalawa… When you build the forensics analysis there, it should only be limited to them both kasi the net worth in the SALN should be based only on the wealth of these two parties,&quot; Ridon added.</p><div><br/></div><div><br/></div>
