Vidal/OSP</div>MANILA (UPDATED) -- Senate Deputy Majority Leader JV Ejercito appealed on Tuesday to Senator Ronald &quot;Bato&quot; Dela Rosa to voluntarily stop receiving his salary and allowances for now.Dela Rosa has not been seen in the Senate since November 2025 after Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla announced that there is an <a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/2/15/drug-war-victims-kin-welcome-naming-of-bato-go-as-co-perpetrators-in-icc-case-0954">arrest warrant for Dela Rosa from the International Criminal Court</a> (ICC) in relation to his role in the Duterte administration&#x27;s war on drugs.&quot;Umaapela tayo kay Sen. Bato Dela Rosa na kusang-loob na hindi muna tumanggap ng sweldo at allowances niya sa Senado,&quot; Ejercito said in a statement.&quot;Gaya ng mga ordinaryong Pilipinong &#x27;no work no pay,&#x27; lalo&#x27;t higit ganoon din dapat ang mga lingkod-bayan. Public service is a public trust, we are all accountable to the people we serve,&quot; he added.Ejercito had previously said the Senate rules may need to be amended in order to impose sanctions on long absences. &quot;As stated before, even by Senate President Sotto, the Senate has yet to establish rules that can compel attendance.
