<p>MANILA<strong> (UPDATED)</strong> — Duterte supporters gathered in front of the Supreme Court as the House Committee on Justice on Wednesday resumed impeachment hearings against Vice President Sara Duterte.</p><p>The supporters amplified their call for a temporary restraining order against the impeachment proceedings as well as the issuance of a writ of habeas corpus to bring former President Rodrigo Duterte back from International Criminal Court custody in the Netherlands.</p><p>Duterte supporter Eduardo Laurencio criticized the appearance of former Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV and Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla at the impeachment hearing.</p><p>“Sarswela po iyan, dahil po kung may ebidensya, pagbotohan na nila, ipasa na nila sa Senado kung makakakuha sila ng 1/3 eh di sa Senado maglabanan,”  Laurencio said.</p><p>(That is all for show. The court also ruled that it was Duterte&#x27;s proclamation that was void and that the former Navy officer&#x27;s amnesty granted during the Aquino administration is valid.</p><p>Laurencio also said Ombudsman Remulla should instead focus on the flood control scandal and not on the impeachment complaints against Vice President Duterte.</p><p>“Ang tagal na niyang sinabi na may makukulong, may makukulong, anong buwan na, April na, matatapos na ang April wala pa kayong napapakulong,” Laurencio said.</p><p>(He has long said that people would be jailed. April is almost over and nobody has gone to jail)</p><p>Since the flood control scandal erupted, the Ombudsman has charged former Sen. Bong Revilla and former congressman Zaldy Co before the Sandiganbayan.</p><p>Preliminary investigations are still underway for sitting senators and House members implicated in alleged corruption in the flood-control projects.</p>
