MANILA - Ombudsman Jesus Crispin &quot;Boying&quot; Remulla confirmed Saturday that the subject of a recent freeze order secured by the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) in connection with the flood control probe is former House Speaker Martin Romualdez.“Si former speaker Martin Romualdez na-freeze na ‘yung kanyang -– may freeze order na from the Court of Appeals kasi doon talaga dinadala ang freeze orders ng AMLC,” Remulla said in a program on radio station DZRH Saturday, April 25.The AMLC on Friday announced that it secured a freeze order against another “prominent” lawmaker supposedly linked to the flood control scandal. It covers the 25 bank accounts of the lawmaker, 10 insurance policies registered under their name, 27 bank accounts, 10 insurance policies, and an investment account under the name of the lawmaker’s alleged business associate. The freeze order also includes 2 bank accounts, 7 property accounts, and a real estate property registered under the corporate entity, according to the AMLC. Remulla added that up to six cases relating to the flood control scandal are lined up to be filed in the next two weeks.
