Teacher Sylvia Aquino makes last-minute preparation inside a kindergarten classroom devoid of any decoration at  Pinyahan Elementary School in Quezon City on Monday, August 28, 2023. The Department of Education issued Order No. 21 mandating all public schools to ensure that school grounds, classrooms, and all other school facilities are clean from unnecessary decoration, clarifying that appropriate visual aids may be used on related topics during classes.

Maria Tan, ABS-CBN News/File</div>CAPIZ — Almost 80,000 teachers and school heads have been promoted under the Department of Education&#x27;s Expanded Career Progression System, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said on Monday.The President attended the oath taking of newly-promoted teachers in Western Visayas held in Roxas City in Capiz.The President said of the 79,230 teachers promoted, more than 8,500 come from the Western Visayas region.&quot;Mas pinalawak ang inyong oportunidad sa pag-angat ng akma sa inyong kakayahan at piniling trabaho. Hindi na kailangang hintayin ang tamang pagkakataon dahil ngayon, ang sistema na mismo ang magbubukas ng pinto para sa inyo,&quot; Marcos said.The Expanded Career Progression System defines growth of teachers into either classroom teaching or school administration.&quot;Kaya’t sinabi ko, hindi na tayo papayag na mayroong guro na magre-retire na Teacher I. Dahil hindi naman talaga tama ‘yun,&quot; Marcos said.&quot;Kasabay ng repormang ito, [patuloy] din nating pinapalakas ang suporta sa ating mga guro dahil sa napakaraming responsibilidad na nasa inyong mga kamay.
