Janice Degamo on Wednesday called for clarification regarding Vice President Sara Duterte&#x27;s reported visit to former congressman Arnolfo &quot;Arnie&quot; Teves Jr., who is alleged to be the mastermind of the assassination of her late husband.</p><p>Reports surfaced in late 2025 that<a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/12/23/sara-duterte-visited-teves-not-alleged-bagman-madriaga-remulla-1416"><strong> Duterte visited Teves </strong></a>at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City, although the country&#x27;s second highest official <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/12/26/sara-duterte-on-alleged-visit-to-arnie-teves-wala-akong-iko-confirm-at-ide-deny-0624"><strong>neither confirmed nor denied the meeting</strong></a>.</p><p>However, some claims have also circulated alleging that the reported visit may have been linked to plans of harming Ramil Madriaga, a witness in the impeachment proceedings against Duterte who is also detained at Camp Bagong Diwa</p><p>Madriaga has reportedly said he received threats from Teves, an allegation that Duterte&#x27;s legal counsel has <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/3/27/sara-duterte-lawyer-teves-alleged-threat-vs-madriaga-comical-0913"><strong>dismissed as &quot;comical.&quot;</strong></a></p><p>&quot;As the second highest official of the country and someone who plans to run for the highest position, the public deserves a clear answer,&quot; Degamo said, referring to Duterte.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/4/15/who-is-ramil-madriaga-1437"><strong>READ: Who is Ramil Madriaga?<br/></strong></a></div><p>Degamo made the statement during the House Committee on Justice&#x27;s hearing on the impeachment complaints against Duterte, which focused on alleged grave threats made by the vice president against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and his family members.</p><div><br/></div><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/qcrwfWUgwcc?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span></div><div><br/></div><p>&quot;We have also heard statements made publicly that included threats against other officials. Some may say these were said out of emotion but for families like ours who have experienced real violence, we cannot take such statements lightly,&quot; said Degamo, whose late husband, former Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo, was killed in an armed attack in Pamplona town in March 2023.</p><p>&quot;We know that words, especially from powerful people, can have real consequences.
