<div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px;display:block" width="960"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1775548323337viber_image_2026-04-07_14-58-20-897.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" alt="The Quezon City Police District cites an offender amid the implementation of the DILG&#x27;s &quot;Safer Metro Manila Plan.&quot; Handout/QCPD" width="960"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">The Quezon City Police District cites an offender amid the implementation of the DILG&#x27;s &quot;Safer Metro Manila Plan.&quot; <em>Handout/QCPD</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA -- Nearly 5,000 individuals, including over 900 minors, were cited for violating various local ordinances during intensified enforcement of the Department of the Interior and Local Government&#x27;s (DILG) &quot;Safer Metro Manila Plan.&quot;</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/4/6/dilg-drinking-liquor-on-streets-is-banned-1139" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">READ: DILG to strictly enforce public drinking ban, minors’ curfew, other ordinances in Metro Manila</a></div><p>Authorities said the operation focuses on enforcing curfew for minors, public intoxication and smoking, indecent exposure or nudity, and videoke operations beyond 10 p.m. across Metro Manila.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>BREAKDOWN OF VIOLATIONS</strong></div><p>The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said several police districts and cities have submitted initial reports:</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>Quezon City Police District (QCPD)</strong></div><p>A total of 437 individuals were cited for ordinance, including:</p><p>* Drinking in public places/streets – 60</p><p>* Videoke/karaoke noise – 33</p><p>* Half-naked in public – 213</p><p>* Minors violating curfew – 131</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>Southern Police District (SPD)</strong></div><p>A total of 4,203 violators were cited, including:</p><p>* Drinking in public and smoking – 2,394</p><p>* Videoke/karaoke nuisance – 269</p><p>* Half-naked in public – 747</p><p>* Minors violating curfew – 793</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>Navotas City Police Station</strong></div><p>Authorities cited 39 violators:</p><p>* Drinking in public – 14</p><p>* Half-naked in public – 22</p><p>* Minors violating curfew – 3</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>Valenzuela City Police Station</strong></div><p>Thirty violators were cited:</p><p>* Drinking in public – 1</p><p>* Half-naked in public – 29</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>Marikina City Police Station</strong></div><p>A total of 205 violators were cited:</p><p>* Drinking in public – 97</p><p>* Half-naked in public – 78</p><p>* Minors violating curfew – 30</p><div><br/></div><p>Other police districts and stations have yet to submit their reports.</p><p>NCRPO chief MGen. Anthony Aberin said the campaign will continue until residents develop better discipline.</p><p>&quot;Ang operation at campaign natin ito ay tuloy-tuloy ito. At kung kaya ng mga kapulisan natin, gagawin natin halos sa araw-araw o gabi-gabi until just time na &#x27;yung mga kababayan natin ay matuto talaga at magkaroon po ng mas maayos na disiplina,&quot; Aberin said. </p><p>&quot;Kapag tinututukan kasi natin ito, eventually ay masasanay na &#x27;yung mga ating mga kababayan at lahat ng mga ito ay masusunod na at tuloy-tuloy na &#x27;yung maayos na komunidad natin,&quot; he added.</p><p>He added that repeated violations will lead to heavier penalties, although first-time offenders may receive warnings depending on the situation on the ground.</p><p>Authorities said the campaign also strengthens joint police and barangay patrols and coordination with local governments to ensure visibility and faster response.</p><p>The DILG earlier said the initiative is part of a broader push to create safer communities through stricter enforcement of city ordinances and local regulations.</p>
