<div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px;display:block" width="960"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1778567379479HIFsuPybYAATY3W.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">Riot police are stationed at the gates of the Senate in Pasay City, as the complex remains under strict security with only authorized vehicles and personnel allowed to enter on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. <em>Jonathan Cellona, ABS-CBN News </em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — Authorities warned protesters they may face arrest if they turn unruly as police tightened security around the Senate following attempts to implement a reported International Criminal Court (ICC) warrant against Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa.</p><p>More than 300 Civil Disturbance Management (CDM) personnel have been deployed since Monday night after supporters of the senator gathered and camped outside the Senate premises.</p><p>“Ang Southern Police District (SPD) ay patuloy na magpapatupad ng mahigpit na seguridad at monitoring operation sa paligid ng Senado,” SPD director Brig. Gen. Glenn Oliver Cinco said.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/5/12/in-video-call-with-supporters-bato-claims-divine-help-in-evading-arrest-ahead-of-senate-coup-0652"><strong>In video call with supporters, Bato dela Rosa claims &#x27;divine help&#x27; in evading arrest ahead of Senate coup</strong></a></div><p>Cinco said police monitored the situation overnight and observed minor incidents involving protesters.</p><p>According to police, some individuals allegedly threw mineral water bottles and splashed water on vehicle windshields while officers assisted vehicles exiting the Senate compound.</p><p>Authorities also removed a vehicle equipped with a sound system that had been parked near a Senate gate to keep entry and exit points clear. </p><p>“So hindi na namin papayagan muna maibalik doon kasi gusto namin free ‘yung pagpasok at saka paglabas doon. Atsaka alam naman nating maraming sasakyan dumadaan sa lugar na ‘yan,” Cinco said.</p><p>Despite the incidents, Cinco said the situation remained under control after protesters were given designated spaces to air their grievances.</p><p>He added that while the Senate is not considered a designated freedom park or protest zone, authorities are allowing demonstrators to express their sentiments as long as they remain peaceful and stay within agreed areas.</p><p>“Kung mayroon silang paglabag sa batas, we will arrest them. Kung maging unruly na sila, kung nakakapanakit na sila, huhulihin namin sila,” he warned.</p><p>“Nandoon naman ‘yung mga personnel namin and sumusunod naman sila. Pinakiusapan ko, dito kayo sa gilid, okay na ‘yung magsalita kahit hindi dito sa harap.
