Ronald dela Rosa, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) director Melvin Matibag clarified that there was no attempt to arrest Dela Rosa at the Senate on Wednesday.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/5/14/senate-timeline-what-happened-on-may-13-2026-0040">SENATE TIMELINE: What happened on May 13, 2026</a></div><p>He also stressed that the NBI had no involvement in the reported gunfire incident inside the Senate premises.</p><p>“Wala po kaming ahenteng dineploy sa Senado, imposible rin naman pong may makapasok dun dahil naka-lockdown nga po ‘yan. Ang OSAA ang nagbabantay dyan, may blue guards, security, at sa pagkakaalam ko ay may pumasok pang marines. Hindi naman po yata kapani-paniwala na makakapasok doon ‘yung mga NBI agent.”</p><p>Matibag underscored that he and his team remained at a hotel in Parañaque throughout the day for a planning session.</p><p>“Buong araw po kaming nandirito, mula po sa akin hanggang sa mga opisyal namin. Accounted po lahat sa hotel na ito kung saan kami nagkakaroon ng planning.” he stated.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>NBI AGENTS AT GSIS PREMISES</strong></div><div><br/></div><p>When asked about reports of NBI agents seen at the GSIS premises, Matibag explained that a few of them were requested there. </p><p>“Sa GSIS mayroong few agents na pinadala upon the request po, maaga pa po iyon, ni GM Wick Veloso. May letter nga po ‘yan na ipinadala sa amin para magpatulong lamang po na i-secure po ‘yung area dahil sabi niya medyo magulo He wants to make sure na secure po ‘yung premises and personnels ng GSIS.&quot;</p><p>&quot;Mag-clearing lang, mayroong daw po kasing exit points and entry points na gusto nilang masara tsaka ma-check din po, umakyat sila sa may helipad. Gusto nila wala munang mag-access.”</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>NO ARREST ORDER YET FOR DELA ROSA</strong></div><div><br/></div><p>The NBI Director also clarified that authorities are still awaiting official instructions before serving the ICC warrant against Dela Rosa.</p><p>“May instruction po sa amin ang presidente, na hindi kami gagalaw hangga’t hindi malinaw kung ano po ‘yung nangyayari din doon sa Korte Suprema. Lalo na po sa nangyayari ngayon, medyo imposible na tayong mag-isip na mag-aresto po tayo.”</p><p>“May inter-agency collaboration po kami riyan. DOJ, PCTC, DFA, Office of the President, PNP, kasama po lahat.”</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>IMEE’S CLAIM ABOUT ARRESTED &#x27;NBI CONFIDENTIAL AGENT&#x27;</strong></div><div><br/></div><p>Matibag said he had no information regarding Senator Imee Marcos’ claim about the alleged arrest of an NBI confidential agent inside the Senate building and reiterated that all their personnel had been accounted for.</p><p>“Wala po, accounted lahat pati po ‘yung nanggaling sa GSIS.”</p><p>Matibag said the NBI would conduct its own fact-finding investigation into the gunfire incident inside the Senate building.</p><p>“Sa dami nung balang ipinutok, medyo nakakapagtaka rin na wala naman pong tinamaan o nasaktan. Magkakaroon din po kami ng imbestigasyon para malaman namin kung mayroong na-involve, dahil binabanggit po ang NBI, kailangang maliwanagan po natin.
