Terry Ridon.</p><p>He said <a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/6/1/sara-duterte-files-impeachment-reply-1646">Duterte’s answer</a> “does not appear to directly address” the allegations in the Articles of Impeachment, particularly Duterte’s alleged threats against the President.</p><p>“It should be noted that the Answer appears to be a rehash of the Vice President’s previous non-answer before the House Committee on Justice. Based on the released Executive Summary, the Answer also does not appear to directly address the Vice President’s threats against the President—an act made well within her term as Vice President and in full public view,” Ridon said in a statement.</p><p>The House prosecution will submit before the Senate Impeachment Court its reply to Duterte’s answer within the mandated period.</p><p>“The prosecution will address these matters fully and properly in its Reply before the Senate impeachment court,” Ridon said.</p><p>The House prosecution received Duterte’s answer to the Articles of Impeachment on Monday, House Impeachment Trial Spokesperson Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong confirmed in a statement.</p><p>“The 11-member House prosecution panel, together with its legal team, will undertake a review of the submission. The public may be assured that the prosecution remains fully prepared and committed to its constitutional duty. Chel Diokno, meanwhile, asserted that the Constitution mandates the Senate to &quot;try and decide&quot; all cases of impeachment. </p><p>He questioned the call from Duterte&#x27;s camp to dismiss the Articles of Impeachment. </p><p>&quot;Simple lang ang tanong: Kung walang itinatago, bakit ayaw ng trial?&quot; Diokno asked. </p><p>&quot;Hindi puwedeng hatol muna bago trial. Kung nais malaman ang katotohanan, dapat munang marinig ang mga testigo at masuri ang lahat ng ebidensya sa isang bukas at patas na pagdinig,&quot; he added. </p><p>&quot;Sundin ang Konstitusyon. Sundin ang due process.
