<p>MANILA — <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/basketball/2026/6/15/ateneo-head-coach-tab-baldwin-resigns-in-wake-of-student-athletes-deaths-1424">Resigned</a> Ateneo men&#x27;s basketball coach Tab Baldwin may face contempt proceedings if he fails to appear before the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) on Friday as part of the ongoing investigation into the deaths of two student-athletes.</p><p>Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla said this is already the second notice issued to the veteran coach and he could be cited for contempt should he fail to attend the hearing again.</p><p>Other members of the coaching staff are also scheduled to appear before investigators on Friday as part of the CIDG&#x27;s fact-finding probe.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/basketball/2026/6/17/immigration-lookout-bulletin-order-issued-vs-baldwin-other-ateneo-coaches-1603">Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order issued vs. Baldwin, other Ateneo team officials</a></div><p>Meanwhile, authorities are still awaiting the statement of a team member who is currently out of the country.</p><p>CIDG investigators said they have established a timeline of events, including the team&#x27;s decision-making process leading up to the team-building activity in Aurora, where Rene Baterbonia and Divine Adili drowned. </p><p>&quot;The report is not complete yet. Tomorrow, the coaches are scheduled to appear under subpoena, and by Tuesday, we expect to submit our full report to the Department of Justice,&quot; said Remulla.</p><p>&quot;Once we complete the narrative from the coaches, we will be ready to make our recommendations,” he said.</p><div><a href="http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/sports/basketball/2026/6/15/ateneo-says-team-building-tradition-predates-tab-baldwin-era-1707">Ateneo says team-building ‘tradition’ predates Tab Baldwin era</a></div><p>However, Remulla said investigators have yet to determine who could be held liable in connection with the incident.</p><p>&quot;Whenever there is a death, there is always potential liability. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said at least 20 investigators were deployed to assist in the probe. </p><p>Nartatez said investigators were looking into the possibility of filing charges under the Anti-Hazing Act against certain individuals. </p><p>“There is a possibility that they can be indicted for violation of the Anti-Hazing Law,” Nartatez said.</p><p>He said that hazing is not limited to physical violence and may also involve psychological or emotional harm.</p><p>“Ang hazing naman, not necessarily na merong physical contact.
