Jinggoy Estrada and ex-DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan on their plunder and graft charges pending the resolution of motions.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/6/2/jinggoy-estrada-graft-arraignment-pleads-not-guilty-1323">Sandiganbayan reschedules graft arraignment of Estrada, Bonoan</a></div><p>Their co-accused, DPWH-NCR Assistant District Engineer Denryl Cortuna and District Engineers Manny Bulusan and Arturo Gonzales, pleaded not guilty on their graft and plunder charges.</p><p>The Sandiganbayan Fifth Division, chaired by Associate Justice Zaldy Trespeses, also ordered the lawyers of Bonoan to submit his medical certificate after Bonoan failed to attend the scheduled arraignment today. His doctors have not yet updated the PNP on Bonoan’s health status, his counsel said.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/6/3/ex-dpwh-chief-bonoan-remains-hospitalized-under-observation-1102">Ex-DPWH chief Bonoan moved to a private hospital—PNP</a></div><p>Bonoan earlier filed a motion for hospital arrest after reportedly experiencing hypertension. He is currently staying at the Medical City in Makati.</p><p>Meanwhile, Estrada withdrew his motion to transfer him to the Philippine National Police (PNP)<a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/6/3/estrada-seeks-transfer-to-camp-crame-detention-center-1812"> Custodial Center in Camp Crame.</a></p><p>Estrada’s counsel told the court that it intends to first resolve their motion to quash the information filed by the Ombudsman.</p><p>The senator also withdrew his motion to fix bail.</p><p>His lawyer Lawrence Arroyo previously argued that Estrada should be entitled to temporary liberty because there is no strong evidence to support the charges against him.</p><p>However, Associate Justice Gener Gito noted that if Estrada proceeds with the motion to fix bail, it is tantamount to abandoning his other pending motion to quash information.</p><p>Arroyo replied that it intends to have their motion to quash information resolved first.</p><p>The prosecution was given 10 days to comment on the pending motions of Estrada and Bonoan.</p><p>Estrada and Bonoan are also set to be arraigned on their other graft charge handled by the court’s Second Division.</p><div><strong><br/></strong></div><div><strong>RELATED VIDEO</strong></div><div><strong><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/VO7omFgDAIE?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span></strong><br/></div>
