Erwin Tulfo said Thursday a supposed former Marine who accused him of receiving money from former lawmaker Zaldy Co could not keep up with his own “lies” during a “bogus” flood control hearing led by Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano. </p><p>The 18 individuals claiming to be former Marines repeated their allegations of delivering suitcases of money to over a dozen individuals, including Tulfo and Sen. Vicente Sotto III, whose Senate faction is locked in a power struggle with Cayetano’s group. </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/6/4/gatchalian-resource-persons-won-t-be-allowed-to-enter-senate-on-thursday-0948">Cayetano-led hearing tags Sotto, Tulfo in flood control mess </a></div><p>“MALAKING KASINUNGALINGAN ang mga naging paratang ni Bernard Gumban, isa sa mga nagpakilalang 18 Ex-Marines, sa ginaganap na BOGUS BLUE RIBBON COMMITTEE HEARING. Sa sobrang daming kasinungalingan, siya mismo ay LITONG-LITO,” Tulfo said in a statement. </p><p>He noted alleged discrepancies in Gumban’s statements, including his remarks on how many suitcases he delivered and the value of the cash.   </p><p>The senator added that some personalities mentioned in the original affidavit of the ex-Marines were absent from their allegations during the hearing.</p><div>“Ito ba ang sinasabi nilang IMPARTIAL investigation? Walang puwang sa Senado ang mga fake news at trolls. Sherwin Gatchalian as acting Senate chief. </p><p>Tulfo on Wednesday said he was rescheduling the Blue Ribbon investigation on Monday, June 8 and cancelling the June 4 probe supposed to be led by the Cayetano group. </p><p>On Thursday morning, Gatchalian said resource persons of the June 4 hearing would not be allowed to enter the Senate.
