MANILA — Malacañang on Friday said it has no confirmation on the rumored attempt to attack the Palace on June 12, Independence Day but did not discount the possibility of a destabilization plot.Palace Press Officer Claire Castro did not mention names in her statement Friday but factions of the former UniTeam alliance of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte have been stepping up attacks and allegations against each other.“[H]indi naman bago ang mga ganitong aksyon dahil noon pa nila nais iluklok sa pwesto ang kanilang poon na gahaman sa kapangyarihan kahit wala pa ang 2028,” Castro said.<div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/5/12/palace-dismisses-fresh-destabilization-plot-rumors-1611">Palace dismisses fresh &#x27;destabilization plot&#x27; rumors </a></div>Castro was responding to the social media post of retired columnist Mon Tulfo who alleged that the “Philippine National Police has received intelligence reports of a planned attack on the Palace to be led by a religious sect.”Tulfo, elder brother of Sens. Raffy and Erwin Tulfo, said in a Facebook post that a source at the meeting told him discussion was on a  “plan to storm Malacañang by pro-Sara groups on June 12, to coincide with the Independence Day.”He said “conferees tackled the defense of Malacañang.”Castro said law enforcement agencies and investigating bodies have the mandate to act on such illegal activities.“Mag-ingat po tayong lahat sa mga kampon ng kadiliman,” she stated.
