<p>MANILA -- The Philippine National Police (PNP) has served warrants of arrest to five individuals accused of involvement in alleged irregularities linked to a flood control project in Bulacan.</p><p>According to the Bulacan Police Provincial Office, former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) officials identified as “Jun,” “JP,” and “Brice” were served warrants on June 5 while already detained at the New Quezon City Jail in Payatas, Quezon City. </p><div><a class="fr-green" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/6/7/more-raps-loom-vs-18-bagmen-over-flood-control-claims-1241"><strong>More raps loom vs 18 &#x27;bagmen&#x27; over flood control claims</strong></a></div><p>The two other respondents, a DPWH engineer and an employee, voluntarily surrendered to authorities.</p><p>“Ito pong dalawa ay na facilitate natin yung voluntary surrender nila at yun nga po, nagpapasalamat kami at binigay nila yung sarili nila upang mag-surrender sa atin at nandito po sa custodial po natin,” PCol. Jay B Baybayan, Provincial Director, Bulacan PPO said. </p><p>One surrendered on the evening of June 5 in Malolos City, while the other turned himself in on the afternoon of June 6 in the same city.</p><p>Both are currently detained at the custodial facility of the Malolos City Police Station.</p><p>“Atin pong ireturn yung warrant of arrest sa korte at pagkatapos po, antayin natin yung kanilang commitment order,” PCol. Nartatez Jr. commended the operating units for their swift action. </p><p>&quot;Ang mandato ng PNP ay ipairal ang batas nang pantay para sa lahat. Hindi natin pinapalampas ang mga ganitong kaso dahil kailangan may pananagutan. Kapag may mali, dapat may kasunod na aksyon—para maprotektahan ang pondo ng bayan at manatili ang tiwala ng publiko,&quot; he said.</p><p>The five accused face charges of Malversation of Public Funds or Property Through Falsification of Public Documents in relation to Articles 171 and 48 of the Revised Penal Code with no bail recommended.</p><div> </div>
