Portia Manalad said Bonoan remains confined in a private hospital after exhibiting elevated cardiac markers and other health concerns while under police custody.</p><p>“Pagka nag-go ang kanyang attending physician, we are willing to receive him as per the resolution coming from Sandiganbayan sa PNP General Hospital,&quot; Manalad said.</p><p>Manalad noted that if the angiogram detects a blockage, Bonoan may have to undergo angioplasty, a procedure that cannot be performed in the PNP General Hospital.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/6/5/sandiganbayan-allows-ex-dpwh-chief-bonoan-s-hospital-arrest-1025">Sandiganbayan allows ex-DPWH chief Bonoan’s hospital arrest</a></div><p>She acknowledged that the police hospital lacks facilities for procedures such as angioplasty, angiogram, MRI, and CT scans, which was why Bonoan was brought to a private medical facility.</p><p>Despite his medical condition, Bonoan has shown signs of improvement, particularly in managing his blood pressure and symptoms related to a previous hypertensive crisis, Manalad said.</p><p>“Every day, nag-a-update sa amin ang mga attending physicians niya and nakikita namin ‘yung progress niya.
