Jonathan Cellona, ABS-CBN News</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) has yet to receive any new warrants of arrest against high-ranking public officials amid speculation that courts may soon issue such orders.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/7/1/ombudsman-marcoleta-not-singled-out-amid-potential-plunder-charge-1544">Ombudsman firm on filing plunder rap vs. Marcoleta</a></div><p>CIDG National Capital Region chief Col. John Guiagui said the unit remains on standby to implement any warrant that may be issued by the courts.</p><p>&quot;As of now, wala naman kami natatanggap na warrant of arrest for any high-ranking official right now. But again, mandate ito ng CIDG. Kung sakali man na meron, just like the previous cases, ready ang CIDG to implement and serve any warrant that will be given by the court,&quot; Guiagui said.</p><p>His statement comes after thousands of members of the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) gathered in parts of Metro Manila earlier this week to protest what they called &quot;selective justice&quot; following reports about the possible filing of a plunder complaint against Senator Rodante Marcoleta.</p><p>Asked how the CIDG would handle the implementation of a warrant against a high-profile official, Guiagui said extensive planning and coordination would be necessary.</p><p>&quot;It takes a lot of preparation. Not only the CIDG, but the whole PNP as a whole,&quot; he said.</p><p>Meanwhile, Guiagui said authorities continue to hunt down wanted individuals linked to alleged irregularities in flood control projects.</p><p>He said the search remains ongoing for other Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) personnel linked to government contractors Curlee and Sarah Discaya, as well as other suspects from Sunwest Corporation who remain at large despite existing warrants of arrest.</p><p>“‘Yung mga flood control na involved na hindi natin nahuli mula doon sa Sunwest, mula doon sa Region 4B, at saka ‘yung huli kay Discaya, ‘yung dalawa, tuloy-tuloy ‘yung paghahanap natin dun sa dalawa na DPWH personnel na iyon,” Guiagui said.</p><p>Guiagui also said the government is coordinating with foreign counterparts to pursue fugitives believed to have left the country, including individuals associated with Sunwest.</p><p>“May surrender feelers nila, kaso hindi naman sila sumuko. That&#x27;s why manhunt operation is still ongoing.
