<p>MANILA — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has downgraded its security posture from full alert to heightened alert in most parts of the country, but Metro Manila will remain under full alert as authorities continue to monitor developments related to the Iglesia Ni Cristo rally on Thursday. </p><p>The PNP noted that the Quezon City government <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/7/1/qc-puts-on-hold-inc-rally-permit-for-thursday-after-complaint-1911">revoked the permit</a> it had issued for the Iglesia&#x27;s planned assembly on Thursday, citing the <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/6/30/traffic-snarls-hit-edsa-as-thousands-of-inc-members-gather-for-rally-1003">heavy traffic </a>and public disruption caused by the previous two days of demonstrations. This prompted the third day of the rally to <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/7/2/classes-suspended-in-manila-as-inc-protest-shifts-to-liwasang-bonifacio-0830">shift to Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila.</a></p><p>In a statement, PNP chief PGen.
