<div><br/></div><p>MANILA<strong> (UPDATE) </strong>— Akbayan Reps. Chel Diokno and Perci Cendaña, and ML party-list Rep. Leila De Lima filed their counter-affidavit at the Quezon City prosecutor’s office on Friday in response to the complaint filed by the husband of Vice President Sara Duterte, lawyer Mans Carpio. </p><p>Carpio in April <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/5/29/lawyers-of-solons-execs-sued-by-mans-carpio-appear-in-court-1112">sued the lawmakers</a>, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Eli Remolona Jr., and Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) Executive Director Ronel Buenaventura over the disclosure of his bank records during a House hearing on the impeachment case against Duterte.</p><p>This the second time the lawmakers filed their counter affidavits after the preliminary investigation had been moved to Friday, July 3 following the complainant’s addendum filed last May 13. </p><div><br/></div><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/video.php?height=314&amp;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Freel%2F1331143235282041%2F&amp;show_text=false&amp;width=560&amp;t=0" width="560" height="314" style="border:none;overflow:hidden" scrolling="no" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span></div><p>The AMLC revealed during the House Committee on Justice hearing on the impeachment complaint against the Vice President that it had received reports of <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/4/22/amlc-reports-33-suspicious-bank-transactions-under-sara-duterte-husband-1431">“suspicious” and “covered” bank transactions amounting to P6.77 billion </a>linked to Duterte and Carpio over a period of nearly 20 years.</p><p>Diokno maintained that it is their constitutional duty as members of the House Committee on Justice to disclose the bank records of the Duterte couple at the House hearing. </p><p>“Basta kami, ginawa lang naman namin ang trabaho namin at ang tungkulin namin sa ilalim ng konstitusyon. Alam niyo naman na yung impeachment ay galing mismo sa utos ng ating konstitusyon kung anong gagawin ng House of Representatives. At bilang member ng Committee on Justice, yun lang naman ang ginawa namin.”</p><p>De Lima also said the ongoing complaint against them will not affect the upcoming impeachment trial of the Vice President on Monday, July 6. </p><p>“Hindi po iba pong kaso ito. At bakit naman makakaapekto?
