MANILA (UPDATED) -- A magnitude 5.5 earthquake struck the waters off northeast Lubang, Occidental Mindoro around 6:42 p.m. on Monday, Phivolcs said. 

In its updated advisory, Phivolcs said the quake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 116 kilometers. 

No damage is expected from the earthquake but the agency warned of aftershocks. 

Phivolcs said the following areas felt the earthquake:

- Intensity IV - Lubang, Occidental Mindoro

- Intensity III - Quezon City; City of Makati, City of Taguig, Obando, Bulacan; Hermosa, Bataan; Cainta, Rizal; City of Cabuyao, Laguna

- Intensity II - Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro; Cuenca And Talisay, Batangas; City of Tagaytay and Bacoor, Cavite

- Intensity I - City of Muntinlupa

Instrumental Intensities:

- Intensity III - City of Tagaytay, Cavite; City of Calapan, Oriental Mindoro; Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro

- Intensity II - City of Navotas; Pandi, and San Rafael, Bulacan; Bauan, Talisay, and City of Tanauan, Batangas; Naic, Ternate, and City of Trece Martires, Cavite; 

City of Calamba, Laguna; Abra de Ilog, Magsaysay, and Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro

- Intensity I - City of Malabon; Bulakan, Bustos, and Paombong, Bulacan; Rosario, Batangas; City of San Pablo, Laguna; Dolores, Gumaca, and Mauban, Quezon; Tanay, Rizal

Earlier, Phivolcs said the epicenter was located near the waters off Calatagan, Batangas. In its updated advisory released at 7:12 p.m., the epicenter was already in Lubang. 

Phivolcs told ABS-CBN News that the first advisory was based on its automatic solution.

With the new data from seismic stations, Phivolcs said it refined the earthquake's parameters such as location, depth, and magnitude.
