Porac mayor files counter-affidavit on POGO-related graft complaint

MANILA — The camp of suspended Porac, Pampanga Mayor Jaime Capil filed his counter-affidavit Friday at the Department of Justice (DOJ) on the graft complaint he is facing in relation to the illegal POGO hub discovered in his town. 

Capil’s lawyer Sos Sian was present during the filing of the counter-affidavit.

“Pinabulaanan namin ang lahat ng mga kasinungalingan, nilinaw namin ang ilang mga facts doon... by providing evidence na dokumento,” Sian said.

In the complaint, Capil as well as other local officials of Porac, were accused of graft for granting Lucky South 99 a business permit despite documentation problems, among others.

The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission and the Philippine National Police filed the complaint last year.

“We trust that the DOJ and the prosecution system in general will be able to evaluate our case fairly,” Sian said.
