<div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/6UoQAwITNOA?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div><p>Taal Volcano has shown a significant uptick in activity, recording two distinct eruptions in the last 24 hours, even as it remains under Alert Level 1 (Low-level unrest).</p><p>According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology in its 5 a.m. bulletin today, October 2, 2025, the volcano&#x27;s recent activity included both a five-minute phreatic eruption and a longer, 13-minute phreatomagmatic event.</p><p>This activity follows a minor phreatomagmatic eruption that occurred at the Main Crater yesterday morning, October 1, 2025, at 2:02 AM, which produced a towering eruption plume that reached 2,500 meters high and drifted northwest.</p><p>In addition to the explosions, PHIVOLCS recorded a total of 10 volcanic earthquakes, including four volcanic tremors lasting between two to four minutes.</p><p>The volcano is also exhibiting signs of internal pressure, with short-term inflation of Taal Volcano Island and high Sulfur Dioxide gas flux at 1,892 tonnes per day.</p><p>The steam plume from the main crater has been observed rising 600 meters high and drifting to the southwest.</p><p>Despite the low alert level, PHIVOLCS is maintaining a strict reminder to the public, emphasizing that the volcano remains in an abnormal condition.</p><p>Entry into Taal Volcano Island, designated as the Permanent Danger Zone (PDZ), is strictly prohibited.
