May mga previous cases din siya na sila ay involved sa robbery cases in Manila,” said PCol. Angel Garcillano, provincial director of the Bulacan PPO.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/regions/2024/10/3/bulacan-village-captains-association-head-killed-in-ambush-2134">Bulacan village captains association head killed in ambush</a></div><p>Garcillano revealed that the group’s alleged leader is a former police staff sergeant who was dismissed from the Philippine National Police (PNP) but was still active at the time of the killing.</p><p>“‘Yun pong leader nila na ‘to ay dismissed na sa PNP service but during the commission of the incident, siya po ay active,” Garcillano said.</p><p>“With the result of the investigation, lumabas ‘yung warrant, nag-AWOL ‘yung kanilang pinuno.”</p><p>Authorities believe the murder may be linked to the suspects’ gun-for-hire operations, though they are also exploring a possible political angle.</p><p>“Establishing the profile of the victim and the suspects, it appears na it is motivated by their activities relative to gun-for-hire,” Garcillano said.</p><p>“Hopefully ‘pag nakuha natin ‘yung other suspects nito, we will give you a complete picture kung ano talaga.”</p><p>Police continue to pursue the dismissed police officer and two other suspects who remain at large.</p><p>“Palipat-lipat ‘yung mga suspect. We have established areas not only in Metro Manila, Region 1, Region 4B, so dito na kami naka-focus ngayon.
