(Courtesy: The Bicol Universitarian)</span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — On-site classes were halted and work was suspended at Bicol University&#x27;s (BU) West, East, and Daraga campuses in Albay on Wednesday in response to bomb threats sent to the university through social media.</p><p>The university announced classes would shift to online asynchronous mode and that work was supended from noon until further notice.</p><p>BU said a message was received through its official social media page that &quot;contained explicit bomb threats directed at the BU West and Daraga campuses&quot;.</p><p>Police arrived at the West or main campus to assist in managing the crowd of students and staff leaving the building. The exit caused congestion at the university gates and heavy traffic along the main campus area.</p><p>The Police Regional Office 5, whose headquarters is across the West campus in Legazpi City, sent officers from the Explosives and Ordnance Disposal unit to investigate the threat.</p><p>The university, in its social media post, said work and on-site classes were suspended &quot;to allow for a thorough safety assessment of the concerned areas and to ensure the security and well-being of all university personnel and students.&quot;</p><p>It added, &quot;BU does not take this matter lightly.&quot;</p><p>Over the past week, colleges in other regions also experienced bomb threats, such as <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/10/2/bomb-threat-targets-dlsu-in-manila-isko-suspects-pranksters-0848">De La Salle University</a> on October 2, and Pampanga State University, Pampanga Colleges, Holy Cross College, and Our Lady of Fatima University in Pampanga province on October 6.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>RELATED VIDEO</strong></div><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Da26Cx9tQu8?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div><div><script data-wid="auto" type="text/javascript" src="https://content.viralize.tv/display/?zid=AAFz8gWM8iRADsJr&amp;cid=ABl9WDYnLQY-RaWb"></script></div>
