At sa mga lugar na ito lalo na sa mga nagiging biktima ng mining industry, malaking question sa mga tao, ‘Ano bang mahalaga– ang ma-preserve ang aming buhay o ‘yung sinasabi nilang kita mula sa minahan na hindi naman namin napapakinabangan?’ Mahalagang question ‘yun para sa mga taga-isla na kagaya ko,” Bag-ao said on Wednesday.“Pero magandang tanong din ‘yan sa ating pamahalaan kung magpapatuloy ba ang mga national projects kagaya ng mining activities sa mga probinsya na dapat mas pinoprotektahan ang bundok kaysa sa ikinikita lang ng national government na hindi naman at nagti-trickle down lang naman nang maliliit sa mga komunidad,” Bag-ao said.Bag-ao added that only two houses remained standing in one of the islands with three barangays she visited following “Tino.”The Dinagat Islands was previously under a state of calamity earlier in November due to the severe impact of Typhoon Tino.
