<p>Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Vince Dizon met on Thursday with the father and son who went viral on social media after the jeepney driver offered free rides to celebrate his son’s passing of the civil engineering licensure exam.</p><p>In a viral TikTok video posted by user jujiiihhh, the uploader said she was moved by the PUJ driver’s gesture of offering free rides as an expression of gratitude. She added that she felt proud as a fellow daughter of a driver. </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/11/28/ex-dpwh-engineer-henry-alcantara-turns-over-p110-million-to-gov-t-1415"><strong>Ex-DPWH engineer Henry Alcantara turns over P110 million to gov’t</strong></a></div><p>“Thankful kay Daddy Edwin kasi napaka-heartwarming. Nakakalambot ng puso yung ginawa ni tatay Edwin na nilibre niya yung mga pasahero for 1 day nung pumasa sa board si Dave. Mahirap yon yung walang kita ng isang araw,” Dizon said after his visit to the Bucana Bridge in Davao City.</p><p>Dizon encouraged Recososa to be part of the DPWH, offering him a job at the DPWH Davao Regional Office as a civil engineer. </p><p>The DPWH said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. directed the agency to encourage new civil engineering graduates to join the department to help Filipinos through infrastructure development.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/11/24/ex-dpwh-engineers-file-counter-affidavits-on-flood-control-projects-1750"><strong>Ex-DPWH engineers file counter-affidavits on flood control projects </strong></a> </div><p>Recososa is among those to be hired by the DPWH to fill around 2,000 job vacancies nationwide.</p><p>“Maganda &#x27;yung pagpasok mo kasi marami tayong gagawin next year. Kailangan natin ng fresh blood. Bago. &#x27;Yung hindi kamukha nila Brice Hernandez, nila Alcantara,” Dizon told the media.</p><p>Dizon also commended the father for his daily sacrifices as a jeepney driver to support Dave through his studies and provide for their family.</p><p>Recososa gladly accepted the offer.</p><script data-wid="auto" type="text/javascript" src="https://content.viralize.tv/display/?zid=AAFz8gWM8iRADsJr&amp;cid=ABtELTIS7i7NAPCJ"></script>
