Rita, Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro, during a law enforcement operation conducted on December 4, 2025.</div><p>The operation was a joint effort by the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) Oriental Mindoro Provincial Field Unit, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Regional Office 4B, and the Pinamalayan Municipal Police Station.</p><p>A male suspect, identified as “Mike,” and an employee of a private corporation, were arrested for allegedly trading and selling cooking oil not duly registered with the FDA.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/regions/2025/12/8/cavite-police-bust-robbery-group-1-killed-4-arrested-1611">Cavite police bust robbery group; 1 killed, 4 arrested</a></div><p>The authorities recovered a total of 43 packages containing 2,615 bottles of the unregistered cooking oil, with an estimated value of P1,842,478.07.</p><p>In a statement, Police Major General Robert Morico II, acting director of the CIDG, stressed that under the Food and Drug Administration Act of 2009, the manufacture, importation, sale, or distribution of health and food products without proper FDA authorization is prohibited.</p><p>“Since these food products have not gone through the evaluation process of the FDA, its quality and safety cannot be assured,” he said.</p><p>“With this accomplishment, we significantly prevented potential health risks to our consumers.”</p><p>He added that the CIDG remains steadfast in enforcing the law and unyielding against criminality nationwide.</p><p>The public is encouraged to report any suspicious activities involving unauthorized trade or sale of consumer products.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>OTHER NEWS</strong></div><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/LsO9NyZYULw?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/s2YE93KFa8w?&amp;t=2s&amp;pp=ygUdb3JpZW50YWwgbWluZG9ybyBhYnMgY2JuIG5ld3M%3D&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div>
