MANILA — A training aircraft made an emergency landing in Plaridel town in Bulacan province on Wednesday following an engine failure.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said the aircraft, a Piper Tomahawk operated by Fliteline Aviation School Inc., safely performed a forced landing in an open field in Barangay Langlagan.

In a separate report from the Philippine National Police Air Unit, it said that its Robinson R44 helicopter received a distress call regarding the downed aircraft while conducting a proficiency flight and immediately responded to the incident.

Both the student pilot and the instructor were unharmed and accounted for.
