MANILA — The Philippine National Railways (PNR) will resume its operations between Legazpi City in Albay and Naga City in Camarines Sur after an inspection prompted by a collision between a train and a tanker truck.

The Department of Transportation (DoTR) on Saturday said the PNR track from Legaspi to Naga will be operational again starting Sunday.

"The Philippine National Railways (PNR) will resume its Legazpi-Naga and vice versa train services on Sunday, March 16, 2025, after its inspection train went off track when it was hit by a tanker truck along Paloyon Crossing in Nabua, Camarines Sur on Saturday," said the DoTR in a statement.

The PNR earlier said it made improvements in several of its stations to ensure faster and safer transportation for Bicolano commuters.

The PNR inspected the various stations in Daraga, Travesia, and Camalig, all in Albay, on Friday to see the actual situation of the trains and railways.

The PNR is also bringing in added train coaches from Manila this year.
