MANILA — All bus units of Pangasinan Solid North are suspended for 30 days following the multi-vehicle collision on SCTEX in Tarlac, Transport Secretary Vince Dizon announced on Friday.

Dizon said from the initial 15 suspended units, he ordered the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board to include all units, or nearly 300 buses of the company.

"Buong fleet na ng Pangasinan Solid North ay suspended. Hindi lang rutang papuntang Pangasinan kung saan nangyari ang aksidente, kundi yung buong fleet na ng Pangasinan Solid North ay suspended as of now. 30 days suspension," Dizon said.

Dizon added that criminal charges will be filed against Solid North and the driver.

"Sinabihan ko ang LTFRB na mag-file ng criminal case against Pangasinan Solid North for and in behalf of the victims of the incident. Apart from administrative sanctions."

The Transportation chief met with over 20 bus companies Friday to discuss ways to find solutions to beef up safety and security for all passengers. Solid North representatives also joined the meeting.

"Kargo nila bawat pasahero sa isang bus, sa isang jeep, sa isang PUV ay kargo yan ng bus company at kargo yan ng driver," he said.

The bus companies committed to help improve processes. DOTr will issue recommendations based on various topics and issues raised by bus companies and other groups.

"Kailangan sumailalim sa lahat ng testing yung driver - alcohol test, breath analyzer, drug test. Kailangan malaman natin yun. Kailangan rin magkaroon ng very clear enforcement ng mga rules sa tagal ng pagmamaneho. Right now maximum 6 hours per day."

A Solid North bus, operated by Dagupan Bus Co., plowed into four vehicles at SCTEX Thursday and left at least 10 people dead.
