A portion of the Biak-na-Bato highway in La Castellana in Negros Occidental is temporarily impassable due to mud flow.

Office of Civil Defense Negros Island Region Director Donato Sermeno III said equipment from the public works department and the provincial government are on their way to help clear the 100-150 meter stretch affected by the mudflow.

The Office of Civil Defense Western Visayas in a post also advised commuters to take alternative routes.

Residents are also advised by the OCD, especially those near the waterways and low-lying areas to exercise heightened caution and remain vigilant for further flooding or lahar flows.

The La Castellana LGU said continuous rainfall has caused the overflow in Taytay Tamburong, bringing along accumulated ash and debris from the earlier Kanlaon eruptions.
