MANILA — A Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Baguio City was sacked from his post after he figured in a vehicular crash supposedly due to drunk-driving, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said Friday.

Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon ordered LTO Baguio Motor Vehicle Registration chief Edilberto Bongaoen to be relieved from his post, calling the official's action "unacceptable."

“There is no room for someone like this in the LTO and DOTr. This is unacceptable.

Dizon has also ordered Bongaoen’s termination in coordination with the Civil Service Commission (CSC).

“This is too serious a violation to allow a repeat of this,” he said.
