MANILA — One person was injured in a fire that broke out Friday afternoon in a residential and commercial area along Templasan Street, Barangay Marulas, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) - Valenzuela.In a text message to ABS-CBN News, Valenzuela City Fire Marshal FSUPT. Elaine Evangelista said the fire started at 1:50 p.m. and was declared under control by 7:03 p.m.An 82-year-old man sustained second-degree burns on his arms and the nape of his neck. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire, which destroyed a house and a two-storey commercial establishment.The warehouse owner Emma Napal Wu said that their business was only affected because the fire originated from a nearby house.“Ang sabi ng mga kapitbahay ko yung sa likod may mga bahay kasii  doon nag-umpisa ang sunog  noong lumakas ang apoy nadamay na kami,“ Wu said.She denied claims that LPG tanks were being stored in their warehouse.However, she admitted that there were more than 100 LPG tanks at the warehouse when the fire occurred. She clarified that these had not yet been delivered to their store because the warehouse was closed for the holiday.“Kasi may bago kami deliver na tangke, closed kami noong nangyari ang sunog. Dapat, halimbawa deliver siya ngayon dapat kinabuksan disposed na siya. Hindi siya matatawag na imbakan kasi hindi siya umaabot ng dalawang araw. Tatlong linggo, kuha agad yun,” Wu explained.Barangay Chairman Cocoy Espino earlier said they were unaware that a warehouses situated in the locaation.“Base po sa aming knowledge,wala kaming alam na mayroong warehouse doon sa area” Espino said.Wu insisted that all their business documents are in order, and that the items stored in the warehouse included various appliances, cabinets, and bed foams.“Mayroon kami permit.
