MANILA -- Residents of Barangay Niog in Bacoor, Cavite are still anxious because of the continuous rains being dumped in their province.

Some parts of Cavite, which is now under the state of calamity, remain flooded on Wednesday.

According to the Provincial Information Office, among the most affected are the cities and towns of Bacoor, Cavite City, Rosario, Kawit, Noveleta, and Imus.

More than 12,000 individuals had to take shelter in several evacuation centers but some of them have already gone home.

Power remains out in Bacoor, so affected families are having a hard time charging their phones.

Some residents opened up their vans to let people charge, with a small fee.

"Kawawa rin sila, kailangang kailangan din, ginawa na tulong din para makapag charge," said Manuel Perez, a resident.

(They need it so much so I thought about it to help them charge their phones.)

"Mahirap po talaga, unang una walang kuryente, mahirap samin, wala na rin mabiling kandila," he added.

(It's really difficult for us since there is no power, there isnt even a supply of candles.)

Cavite has earlier declared a state of calamity to allow the local government to tap their calamity fund and impose a prize freeze on basic goods.
