2 die in Calumpit, Bulacan due to electrocution

CALUMPIT, Bulacan – Two individuals died on Thursday morning after being electrocuted in Barangay Calumpang in Calumpit town in Bulacan, the province’s disaster risk reduction and management office said.

In a report, the Bulacan DRRMO said the individuals were ages 74 and 53.

“Yung bubong, nilipad ng hangin tapos tinamaan ang kuryente. Eh sa kung ano ang dahilan, yung dalawang matanda, hinabol ang bubong at napahawak sa bubong na may kuryente,” said Manuel Lukban, a DRRM officer in the province.

This bought the total number of those who died in Bulacan recently due to electrocution to three.

On Wednesday, authorities also confirmed that a health worker died in Barangay Baguyo in Meycauayan after touching a metal bar that was also connected to a live wire.

The incident happened near their flooded health center where she was supposed to manage the medicines for affected residents.
