Courtesy of Omar Mamalinta via Annie Perez</span></span></span></div><p>CEBU CITY — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) office in Carmen, Cebu is going the &quot;extra mile&quot; to give a &quot;next level&quot; experience to new voters—by giving out prizes such as household, food, and educational items.</p><div><a href="https://abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/7/29/comelec-all-set-for-10-day-voter-registration-eyes-register-anytime-initiative-1538">Comelec all set for 10-day voter registration, eyes &#x27;register anytime&#x27; initiative</a></div><p>Election Officer Omar Mamalinta shared that they want to go the “extra mile” for their registrants as the voter registration for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections (BSKE) kicks off.</p><p>“Their vote is important since the people have the power to [elect] the best official for the barangay and the youth,” said Mamalinta in Cebuano.</p><p>Carmen is only one of the many areas that are resuming their registration today.</p><p>Comelec-Central Visayas director Francisco Pobe shared that they are looking to have a 2 to 3 percent increase in the number of registrants.</p><p>“We just had our elections so practically our voters are already accounted except for those who just turned 18,” said Pobe.</p><p>Meanwhile, registered SK voters who also turned 18 will automatically be migrated to regular voters.</p><p>The registration from August 1 to 10 will cater only to new registrants, corrections of entry and reactivation but no local transfer.</p><p>Pobe added that their satellite registrations will be effective.</p><p>Cebu City and other cities are having their registration at malls.</p><p>“We want to reach the youth because the election is intended for them,” added Pobe.</p><p>Cebu has more than 3.4 million registered voters based on the May 2022 elections and is the most vote-rich province in the Philippines.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>RELATED VIDEO</strong></div><div><br/></div><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/6yLlaL8ajtk?&amp;pp=0gcJCfwAo7VqN5tD&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div>
