Authorities shut down illegal POGO hub in Davao City, nab 8 foreigners

The NBI Southeastern Mindanao Regional Office has shut down an illegal POGO hub in a Davao City residential property, arresting eight Chinese nationals and seizing computers and phones used for the operation. Authorities noted that operators are now moving into smaller residential setups to evade detection. The NBI stressed the public’s role in reporting suspicious activities, as investigations continue to trace the broader criminal network. Meanwhile, NBI Southeastern Mindanao also intercepted three women at Davao International Airport in a suspected human trafficking attempt to Singapore.The trafficking was allegedly arranged by recruiters “Lalang” and “Yolly,” who remain at large. The victims, found with incomplete travel documents, are now under DSWD care.Authorities are probing the possible involvement of immigration personnel.
