It was their first confirmed sighting in nearly two decades. <em>Courtesy of the Philippine Eagle Foundation</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA -- The Philippine Eagle Foundation (PEF) has spotted a wild and untagged Philippine eagle pair in Bukidnon, marking their first confirmed sighting in nearly two decades. </p><p>The foundation shared photos of the eagle pair engaging in mutual-soaring, a graceful courtship ritual where two lifelong raptor partners glide side by side. </p><div><a class="fr-green" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/4/16/3-months-after-groundbreaking-birth-philippine-eaglet-riley-dies-1633"><strong>3 months after &#x27;groundbreaking birth&#x27;, Philippine eaglet &#x27;Riley&#x27; dies</strong></a> </div><p>Both eagles were sighted in the Bukidnon Higaonon Tribal Association Ancestral Domain (BUHITA). </p><p>“Together, they mark their territory while reaffirming their bond. It’s a beautiful and powerful dance in the sky, signaling that a new nesting season may be on the horizon,” the PEF said through a Facebook post. </p><p>PEF also acknowledged the efforts of BUHITA trail masters, forest guards, PEF biologists and monitoring staff, and the CENRO Valencia team, who worked hand in hand to protect the endangered species. </p><p>“This is a good sign that despite everything, our Philippine Eagles are finding ways to survive in the wild.
