<p>MANILA — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Olongapo City arrested three women believed to be members of a syndicate that pretended to own large parcels of land and sold so-called “prime lot” properties online at bargain price. </p><p>According to authorities, the group would show potential buyers properties in good locations, such as along highways, and convince them that these were up for quick sale.</p><p>In one operation, agents caught a woman receiving payment of P2.5 million for half a hectare of land in Olongapo. Before she could count the money inside a paper bag, NBI operatives arrested her along with two female companions.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/regions/2025/8/29/dswd-rescues-32-minors-shuts-down-orphanage-in-olongapo-over-alleged-physical-abuse-2023">DSWD rescues 32 minors, shuts down orphanage in Olongapo over alleged physical abuse</a></div><p>NBI Olongapo Senior Agent Norman Revita explained the group’s scheme, “Gumagawa sila ng fake title using the same title number, TCT number, bearing the name of the real owner. They are offering it for sale for ₱2.5 milyon kasi mura na raw iyon, considering 500 square meters yon at nasa tabi ng highway. Kaya maraming naeengganyong bumili nito.”</p><p>But after receiving payment, the sellers would suddenly disappear, block the buyers, and resurface online with a new account to target other victims. </p><p>Revita said, “Facebook lang. Sa marketplace actually ng Olongapo upa, benta, and sanlang tira page. In order for you to get enticed, sasabihin niya mortgagee is threatening to foreclose the property unless mabayaran agad… so kailangan we should cut a deal immediately in order for me to redeem it rather than getting foreclosed.”</p><p>Authorities reminded the public to always double-check with the Register of Deeds before closing any land transaction. As Revita warned, “Yung palang presyo, magtataka ka na. Kasi sa Subic, mahal na rin ng halaga ng lupa doon. At nasa tabing daan pa yun, ibig sabihin prime lot. At saka 500 square meters.
