ANTIPOLO CITY — The grieving mother of a 15-year-old girl whose body was found stuffed inside a sack and sealed in a plastic drum in Antipolo City made an emotional appeal on Saturday, calling on the person responsible for her daughter’s death to surrender. “Nananawagan po ako sa kung sino man ang gumawa nito sa anak ko, parang awa niyo na sana sumuko na siya,” the victim’s mother said in an interview. The victim’s body was discovered Thursday afternoon along Marcos Highway in Barangay San Jose, Antipolo City, after residents alerted authorities about a suspicious drum found near a ravine. <div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/regions/2026/1/1/12-hurt-as-fire-razes-fireworks-store-in-antipolo-city-on-new-year-s-day-2255">12 hurt as fire razes fireworks store in Antipolo City on New Year’s day </a> </div>According to the Antipolo police, children scavenging at the roadside initially thought the drum was scrap material. Upon opening it, they discovered what appeared to be a human foot, prompting them to immediately report the matter to the nearest police station.Police officers later recovered the drum, which contained the body of a young female wrapped in a sack and concealed inside before being dumped into the ravine.Antipolo Police Station Chief Public Information Officer PLt. Ken Ada-ol detailed how the discovery was reported to authorities.“Around one o&#x27; clock p.m., in the afternoon, so nakita po itong bangkay na ito within Boso Boso area, nung may nangangalakal na mga bata doon sa baba ng kalsada. Pagkatapos po nun is may nakita po silang orocan na yung maliit na drum, akala po nila kalakal iyon. Nung binuksan nila tumambad ang paa ng isang tao po. Tapos, pumunta po sila sa pinakamalapit na presinto, then nireport po nila around 1:30 p.m. po. Doon po namin nalaman siya po ay 15 years old, taga barangay Cupang, Antipolo City po. Huli po siyang namataan noong January 19, 2026, ng gabi po. Kapatid po niya ang kanyang kasama doon sa Penafranca basketball court doon yung huli nakita siya,” Ada-ol added.Police confirmed that the victim was a resident of Barangay Cupang and had been reported missing since January 19. Family members said they could not think of any possible motive for the killing, as the girl reportedly had no known enemies.The victim’s body has been sent for autopsy to determine the cause of death. Meanwhile, Antipolo police are conducting forward-tracking and backtracking of CCTV footage in the area to identify suspects and reconstruct the events leading to the crime. Authorities continue to urge anyone with information related to the case to coordinate with the Antipolo Police.
