<div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1769495803459Screenshot 2026-01-27 143551_cropped_processed_by_imagy.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/>Screengrab of video from PCG via Dennis Datu, ABS-CBN News</div>MANILA (UPDATED) — Seven crew members of a yacht that caught fire near Tingloy Island in Batangas were rescued by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Southern Tagalog on Tuesday morning.Commodore Geronimo Tuvilla, commander of PCG Southern Tagalog, said the Motor Yacht Allusive, together with its convoy vessel Motor Yacht Neptimus 3, was sailing from Puerto Galera when the fire broke out.Coast Guard personnel responded swiftly after receiving information from a sea marshal aboard a roll-on/roll-off vessel around 7:35 a.m.The seven crew members of M/Y Allusive were evacuated with the assistance of M/Y Neptimus 3.No injuries were reported among the crew members, who are now undergoing medical evaluation at the PCG Southern Tagalog Medical Service.The fire is believed to have originated from the engine room due to a possible electrical failure, the Coast Guard later said. The yacht was headed to Nasugbu, Batangas to take part in a competition.
