OCCIDENTAL M,INDORO— All passengers and crew aboard the passenger vessel MV Our Lady of Fatima 3 were safely rescued after it ran aground shortly after departing Tilik Port in Lubang Island, Occidental Mindoro while en route to Nasugbu Port on Easter Sunday morning.Philippine Coast Guard Southern Tagalog District commander Commodore Geronimo Tuvilla, said Coast Guard personnel from Sub-Station Lubang observed the vessel suddenly stopped around 7:45 a.m., approximately 670 meters from the shoreline.<div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/2/12/dotr-mv-trisha-kerstin-3-was-carrying-too-many-passengers-and-too-much-cargo-1454">DOTr: MV Trisha Kerstin 3 was carrying too many passengers and too much cargo</a></div>Upon coordination with the ship’s captain, it was confirmed that the vessel had run aground on a rocky portion of the seabed due to low tide.The vessel was carrying 162 passengers and eight crew members, all of whom were rescued by the Philippine Coast Guard and by another vessel, MV Princess Christine II.The rescued passengers were brought to the port’s Terminal Management Office, where personnel from the Philippine Ports Authority provided them with food and drinks.According to the Coast Guard, the vessel was carrying 250 liters of marine diesel and 45 liters of lube oil.
