<p>MANILA — Shariff Aguak Mayor Datu Akmad “Mitra” Ampatuan expressed hope that the Department of Justice will file anti-terror law cases against those involved in the rocket-propelled grenade attack against him last January.</p><p>After attending the first preliminary investigation conducted by a panel of prosecutors at the DOJ, Ampatuan said the filing of the cases might put a stop to the continued threats against him.</p><p>“Sana iyong ni-file namin na kaso hinihingi ko sa DOJ na malabas kaagad iyan para matigilan na itong mga ganito ganito eh kasi doon sa amin talagang natakot na ang mga tao doon,” Ampatuan said.</p><p>Ampatuan was inside his armored vehicle when he survived the RPG attack which was caught on CCTV camera.</p><div><a href="http://V">Shariff Aguak mayor survives 4th slay try, credits armored SUV for saving his life</a></div><p>Ampatuan also said there are also continued threats against his family after the attack.</p><p>“Kasi sunod-sunod ang nangyari sa akin, una ako, panglima na iyon na ambush sa akin iyan, pag-ambush sa akin nasunod naman ang pamangkin ko, namatay iyon eh,” Ampatuan said.</p><p>Ampatuan’s lawyer, Atty. Cyrus Torreña, said the respondents have yet to file their counter-affidavits on May 26.</p><p>Torreña said out of the 15 respondents, 3 are already dead and only 10 were represented by lawyers during the preliminary investigation.</p><p>He said the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group of the Philippine National Police filed the complaint for violation of  Republic Act No. 11479 or the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020 with Mayor Ampatuan as the complainant-victim.</p><p>“Ang terrorism kasi ang primary element ng anti-terror natin nagso-sow, nagtatanim ng takot sa mga ordinary citizen, so sa pag-ambush kay mayor using RPG, hindi na siya ordinaryo na sitwasyon, sometimes nakikita natin siya sa pelikula pero iyon pala hindi na pelikula, totoo na talaga siya na pangyayari,” Torreña.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>RELATED VIDEO:</strong></div><div style="text-align:center"><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/3WHTskTQPJE?si=cgFfp8bY0AzcT3Ih" title="YouTube video player" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div>
