<p>CAVITE — A 17-year-old Grade 8 student was rushed to the hospital after being stabbed in the lower abdomen by his 15-year-old schoolmate during a violent confrontation in front of a public market in Barangay Poblacion 4 on Friday afternoon.</p><p>The victim is undergoing treatment at the Silang Specialist Medical Center, while the 15-year-old suspect is set to be turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for proper handling as a minor in conflict with the law.</p><p>According to PLt. Col. Joseph Macatangay, chief of the Silang Police Station, the incident around 5:50 p.m. was triggered by alleged bullying.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/6/26/principal-police-debunk-rumored-stabbing-at-qc-elementary-school-2045">Principal, police debunk rumored stabbing at QC elementary school<br/></a></div><p>Investigations revealed that the victim had been bullying the younger student on their way home from school, sparking a heated argument that escalated into a fistfight, where the victim punched the suspect multiple times.</p><p>During the altercation, the suspect pulled out a bladed weapon and stabbed the victim.</p><p>Responding barangay tanods immediately intervened, subdued both students, and brought the victim to the medical facility.</p><p>Police authorities have recovered the weapon used in the crime as the investigation continues into the latest incident of violence involving minor students in the area.</p><p>The incident comes amid widespread concern over violence among the youth after a school shooting in Tacloban City earlier this week. </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/6/25/marcos-jr-orders-agencies-to-find-root-cause-of-violence-in-schools-1656">Marcos Jr. orders agencies to find root cause of violence in schools</a></div>
