The project aims to give children the know-how on road safety and motorists to drive with care, keeping an eye out for children on the road. <em>Jonathan Cellona, ABS-CBN News/File</em></span></span></span></div><p>CEBU CITY — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Central Visayas will roll out a series of school safety seminars across Cebu and Bohol this July, its newly appointed regional director said. </p><p>The initiative comes amid several incidents of school violence reported in different parts of the country.</p><p><strong></strong>Dominador Cimafranca said the seminars will be open to teachers, parents, students, school medical personnel, security officers, maintenance staff, and concessionaires.<strong></strong></p><p>&quot;This is to ensure a safe learning environment so they know how to respond during times of emergency in the school,&quot; Cimafranca said. </p><p>The seminars will cover cybersecurity, including the protection of students&#x27; personal data, identifying online scams, and recognizing phishing attempts. </p><p>Other topics include digital etiquette, promoting respectful online communication, preventing cyberbullying, and responding to online harassment. </p><p>The program will also discuss active shooter preparedness and preventive measures to help schools strengthen campus safety.</p><p>&quot;We will also share best practices for campus safety and emergency preparedness,&quot; Cimafranca added.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/6/29/deped-eyes-mandatory-bag-inspections-in-schools-after-tacloban-shooting-1731">DepEd eyes mandatory bag inspections in schools after Tacloban shooting</a></div><div><br/></div><div><strong>ROLLOUT BEGINS JULY 10</strong></div><div><br/></div><p>NBI-7 spokesperson Agent Contessa Lastimoso said the first seminar will be conducted on July 10 at a private school with students from Grades 1 to 12.</p><p>The bureau is also working to establish partnerships with the Department of Education and local school boards to expand the program to public schools.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/regions/2026/6/25/cebu-town-enforces-total-ban-on-cellphones-in-schools-0802">Cebu town enforces total ban on cellphones in schools</a></div><p>&quot;Our modules are child-friendly, especially during simulation exercises.
