MANILA — Apple officially launched its Fitness+ service in the Philippines on December 15, bringing the iPhone maker’s subscription-based fitness and wellness platform to one of Southeast Asia’s biggest markets.The rollout lets Philippine users gain access to 12 workout and wellness categories, including Strength, Yoga, High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), Pilates, Dance, Cycling, Kickboxing and Meditation, with sessions lasting from as short as five minutes to as long as 45 minutes.Fitness+ is available on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, and integrates closely with Apple’s hardware ecosystem. Users with an Apple Watch can see real-time metrics such as heart rate, calories burned and progress on Activity rings displayed onscreen during workouts. Those using AirPods Pro 3 can also view performance data, including the “Burn Bar,” which compares an individual’s effort with others who have completed the same workout.The rollout is part of Apple Fitness+’s largest global expansion since its debut five years ago, extending the service to users in 49 countries and regions worldwide.<div>Apple said Fitness+ features a diverse team of trainers who collaborate across workout types and appear in one another’s sessions, aiming to make the platform accessible to users of all fitness levels. </div><div>The service also offers “Custom Plans,” which automatically generate personalized schedules based on preferred activities, durations, trainers and music.</div>Apple said Fitness + subscribers can also listen to a wide array of curated genres ranging from Hip-Hop/R&amp;B to Latin Grooves. Apple recently added a K-Pop category across all workout types, while its Artist Spotlight series highlights music from global stars such as Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, BTS and Coldplay.A separate subscription to Apple Music is not needed as Fitness+, as Fitness+ includes its own curated music for workouts that anyone can use, Apple said.Fitness+ will be priced at P149 per month or P1,190 per year in the Philippines and can be shared with up to five family members. Apple is also offering three free months to customers who purchase eligible new devices, including Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV or AirPods Pro 3.
