FB messenger users report problems with app

MANILA — Hundreds of users of Facebook Messenger in the Philippines reported having problems with the app on Tuesday afternoon.

According to outage tracking website downdetector.ph, reports of problems with Messenger started rising around 2:50 p.m. and peaked at  3:53 p.m. with over 1,700 users reporting problems with the app.

Around 84 percent of the reported issues were related to the inability to send messages and 10 percent reported they could not receive messages.

Most of the reports came from Metro Manila, Cebu City, Cagayan de Oro and Davao City.

As of 4:18 p.m., the number of outage reports about Messenger appeared to be decreasing.

Facebook has yet to release a statement about the issue as of this posting.
