MANILA — The Philippine Army said it has identified the group behind the illegal access attempt to breach the PA network.

In a statement, Army spokesperson Colonel Louie Dema-ala said they are now conducting countermeasures to prevent such cybersecurity incidents in the future.

“The Philippine Army has detected and acknowledged the illegal access attempt of a certain to breach the PA network,” Dema-ala told reporters in a statement on Monday.

“Moving forward, the PA continues to strengthen its cyber defense capabilities through the PA Cyber Security Enhancement Program, which is a key component of our modernization thrust,” he added.

The Philippine Navy, meanwhile, initiated a detailed investigation into the data breach claims.

It has also taken necessary measures to ensure the integrity of PN systems.

“Cybersecurity is a shared responsibility, and the Philippine Navy encourages the public to work with us and contribute constructively in safeguarding the nation’s security,” Navy spokesperson Captain John Percie Alcos said in a statement.

Alcos added, the Navy is committed to strengthening its cybersecurity defenses and addressing potential threats to national security.

A group named Philippine Exodus Security earlier claimed it breached the system of the Philippine Army, days after it allegedly attacked the Philippine Navy’s system.
