Handout</div>MANILA — Samsung unveiled on Tuesday the Galaxy S25 Edge, which it said is it&#x27;s &quot;thinnest&quot; phone yet.With a claimed thickness of just 5.8mm, the S25 Edge is thinner than the S25 Ultra&#x27;s 8.2 mm. It is also thinner than comparable Android flagships like the HONOR Magic7 Pro and Oppo Find X Ultra which are both 8.8mm thick, and even the Xiaomi 15 Pro which is 8.4mm thick. Apple&#x27;s iPhone 16 Pro Max meanwhile is 8.25 mm thick.Samsung launched the Edge amid rumors that Apple was going to unveil its own thinnest phone which some have dubbed as the iPhone 17 Air. <a href="https://www.macrumors.com/roundup/iphone-17-air/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Macrumors.com</a> said there was talk that the iPhone Air would be as thin as 5.5 mm when it supposedly launches in September this year.Meanwhile, the S25 Edge shares many of the specs of the other S25 variants.It has a 6.7-inch, Dynamic AMOLED Display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1440 x 3120 resolution. The Edge also features 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage, and of course, the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset--at least for the US market. Samsung generally uses its own Exynos chips for phones sold in other markers including the Philippines.Unlike the S25 and S25 Plus, which both have triple camera systems at the back, the Edge only has two cameras there--a 200 megapixel main camera and a 12MP ultra-wide camera. Up front is a 12MP shooter to take care of selfie duties.It also has a 3,900 mAh battery which is a bit smaller than even the S25&#x27;s 4,000 mAh and the S25 Plus&#x27; 4900 mAh, likely because of the phone&#x27;s slimmer profile.Samsung meanwhile highlights the newer design of the Edge, which tech giant says &quot;reimagines nearly every element of smartphone design for an even more compact and convenient experience.&quot;&quot;The optimally curved edges and sturdy titanium frame offer enduring protection for everyday use. The latest Corning® Gorilla® Glass Ceramic 2, a new glass ceramic offering that delivers engineered resilience, is used for the front display to yield both vibrancy and strength on Galaxy S25 Edge.The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is not yet listed in the company&#x27;s Philippine website, and there are no announcements yet on when or if it will be available locally.
